Reba was a (25) years old mare when she came to the rescue.  She was totally blind in her right eye and she had almost no sight left in her left eye.  She was very underweight, and had not had any Vet care for many years. She was full of worms and also had parasites. She was an Owner Surrender along with (6) other horses.  She will live her life out at our rescue facility. She was a wonderful, sweet girl even after all the neglect she had suffered.

 The Vet came out to see Reba because she was struggling to gain weight and she started to get a thick discharge from her nose.  He reached in her mouth to look at her teeth and one of her teeth actually broke off at the root.  He said her teeth were infected and most of them would need to come out.  Also, she had a severe sinus infection that was filling her nasal cavity.

Today I know I'll be safe
Today I know I'll know that no one can harm me
Today I know that I'll get food and grain
Today I know that I'll get fresh water to drink
Today I know that I'll get the medical help that I need
Today I know that I'll wake up nice and warm
Today I know that someone nice will greet me every morning
Today I know I won't have the uncertainty of wondering
Wondering when the day will come when that ice cracks
Today I know that someone cares for me
Today I know that I'll be safe
